FROZEN MEAT TO BE MARKED
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 27. The Food Controller (Mr F. R. Picot) states that, as a result of negotiations with the Master Butchers’ Association, arrangements are being made to ticket all frozen meat as such. It is not a sign of inferior quality but is done to enable the public to know what they are buying. The frozen meat released cannot be surpassed as it is of export quality. It ‘is expected that after the end of October greater supplies of fresh killed meat will be available and that it will not be necessary to call upon the freezing works’ stock.
