War had caused a big depletion in their numbers and those left would have to work harder to carry on. The balance-sheet showed an improved balance. The annual report stated that the club was very successful at regattas, winning £133/4/6 at six regattas, a decrease of £l7/11/- in the previous year’s winnings. The junior crew came third in the New Zealand championships at Wellington. The following members had enlisted for active service: W. Aitken, A. West, N. Robertson, C. Denny, G. Williamson, C. ' The president proposed a special vote of thanks to the retiring sole selector, Mr C. Hunter, who will be entering camp shortly. He said that over a period of four years he had shown great judgment which had always been justified. The subscription was fixed at 10/-. Opening day will be held on October 5. As a nucleus for a building fund it was arranged to invest £5O in negotiable security.
