PIPING COMPETITION SOCIETY

BROADCASTING OF MUSIC A well-attended meeting of the Invercargill Piping Competition Society was held on Monday. Arrangements are well in hand for the competition on October 26. The profits of this meeting were to have been handed to the Southland Fighter Plane Fund. A sum has been donated to this fund and all profits in the future will be handed to the Red Cross Fund.

Arrangements have been made with Station 4YZ for four broadcasts of pipe music beginning on Wednesday, September 18. Each, pipe time will be introduced with a few remarks. The tunes will cover all classes of pipe tunes, regimental, battle and music connected with Scottish life.
