NEW INDUSTRY
DISTILLATION OF COAL.
(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Conyrlght) (Rec. 12.40 a.m.) Sydney, June 3.
The State Government and representatives of a powerful group of British capitalists are negotiating for the creation of a new industry, namely, the distillation of coal and the manufacture of chemicals at Newcastle, the development of which will involve nearly £3,000,000. The industry will be carried on at Moscheto Island. A long lease has been acquired by the capitalists, and (he agreement is now awaiting signature.
