COLLISION AT SEA

SWEDISH VESSEL SUNK. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright., London, June 1. The Swedish steamer Inger was sunk and 15 of the crew are feared to have been drowned, in consequence of a collision in a fog off Beachy Head with the Italian tanker Literno, the bows of which were damaged. The crew of the latter are safe. THREE RESCUED INGER STRUCK AMIDSHIPS. (Rec. 11.10 p.m.) London, June 2. The Literno picked up two survivors of the Inger’s crew of 21,- and the Eastbourne lifeboat rescued a third youth after he had been five hours astride an upturned boat.' The survivors related that the Inger was struck amidships in darkness and driving rain. Sfye sank in ten minutes. The crew were unable to launch the boats.

The Literno’s bows were damaged, but she did not require assistance.
