CHURCH BLOWN AWAY

COLLAPSE IN A CYCLONE. During a terrific cyclone which raged for nearly two days in the Metohija district of Yugo-Slavia, the heavy roof of the church of Saoint Petka, which stood near the town of Pech, was lifted off like a hat and smashed to pieces against the mountain side 250 yards away. The walls were then demolished, and a few minutes later the site was completely bare. The cyclone stripped the roofs off many houses in the district, in addition to uprooting trees and damaging bridges.
