FINANCIAL PANIC
SHANGHAI EXCHANGE MARKET. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Shanghai, May 29. The exchange market is nearing a panic in view of a further fall in the price Of silver. Four small banks failed yesterday, and the position of others, is shaky. LONDON MARKET AFFECTED. (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, May 29. There was a further slump in silver on the London market to-day when prices fell to the lowest ever recorded, 17 7-16 d for spot and 171 for forward delivery.
