JOCKEY SENT TO GAOL

CHARGE OF ASSAULT.

Wanganui, May 20.

Patrick McGuire, a jockey, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment for assault by the Magistrate, Mr Salmon, this morning.

The evidence showed that McGuire and a woman were drunk at a pie cart when an altercation took place and he struck a man named Campbell on the mouth and threatened Constable Nairn with a sauce bottle.
