THE OFFICERS’ CONFERENCE. ALTERATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. June 11. The Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association Conference sat in committee to-day to consider the Association’s rules, which were subsequently continued in open conference. Briefly put. they altered the constitution of the executive committee to consist of (he president, general treasurer, and eight delegates (four from each Island), to be elected by the conference. Provision was made for the case of death or resignations. The conference must be called together at least once in every two years. The scope of the distress fund was widened to include payment to the estates of unmarried officers, and the allocation from the general fund was increased. The constitution was altered to allow of a referendum on questions of importance. The conference agreed to confer with (he three railway' societies, the Public Service Association, and the Education Institute on matters of common interest.
