OBSTRUCTING TRAINS

RAILWAY STRIKE INCIDENT. HEAVY FINES IMPOSED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 11. At the Lower Hutt Court Leslie Wilson and Clarence Wilson were each fined £25 for obstructing the working of the railways and £5 each for trespassing on the railways. The cases arose out af an incident during the railway strike. Defendants turned off the station lights as a train approached the Hutt. The stationmaster said only by good fortune was a serious accident avoided. The Magistrate (Mr E. Page) said he would send them to goal without the option of a fine if it were possible under the Act, as such acts were too serious and could not be tolerated.
