Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 13th December, 1873, as follows : — Fat Cattle. — Only a small number came for* ward, bat as the trade had considerable stocks in hand, the supply was quite sufficient ; 43 head, of only middling quality, were yarded, and brought from 15s to 20s per 1001 b. Fat Sheep. — 250 were penned. We sold 100 merino wethers, middling quality in wool, at 12s. Other sales were crossbreds in wool at 19s ; merino?, do, at 14s. We also sold privately 500 half-breda at 2sd to 2£d per lb., which figures we give as present market value. Fat Lambß. — 36 were penned, which sold at 9s to 10s 3d each. Privately we sold 50 at 10a. Store Cattle.— The demand has somewhat slackened. We sold 120 head bullocks and spayed cows at £3 12s 6d. We quote bullocks, three to five years old, £4 to £4 10s ; spayed cows, £3 to £3 10s ; mixed lots, £2 5s to £2 10s. Store Sheep. — There are no transactions to report, the general prevalence of shearing proven tirg operations. We quote half-breds, 7s 6d to 8s ; merinos, 4, 6, and 8-tooth, ss. Horses. — There id still a good demand for both draught and light harness. We sold, on account of Messrs Jones, Gidney, and Trestrail, 54 head draught mares and geldings, ex Omeo, from Melbourne, at from £33 to £60. We quote first-class draught*, £50 to £65 ; medium do, £33 to £40; good hacks and light harness horses, £20 to £35 ; medium do, £13 to £17 ; light and inferior, £5 to £7. Sheepfkins. — At our weekly Bale, on Wednesday, there was a fair attendance of buyers, and prices obtained were fully equal to last week's rate*. We sold butchers' green skins, halfbreds, at 5s to 6s 4d ; do, merinos, 6a 3d to 5s 5d | station skins, 2s id to 4s 7d each. Hides.— We disposed of several lots at our weekly sale, at about last week's prices. Well* cured heavy hides would command good prices. Many of the lots sent to market are very indifferently cured. We sold medium weights at 17s 3d to 18s 6J eaoh. ' Grain.— The market continues dull; and to effect large sales a concession in price would have lobe made. Wheat: Good samples are worth 6s per bushel ; inferior, difficult to quit. Oats : The demand is confined to local wants ; milling cannot be quoted over 4a to 4s 2d per bushel ; feed, 8b lid.
