<1. F. Martin and Co report : — On the 12th inst., we held a sole of wcol and sheepskins, -when about 35 boles were offered, and all clearell, with the exception of 3 bales We cold 16 bales t and i bred hoggett wool at 12£ d ; 6 bales i bred wether wool, Is ; 2 bales Lincoln and Leicester wcol, 12f d ; 4 bales i bred Leicester, li|d j 1 bale cross-bred, 10id ; locks and pieces, 5£ >. She* pskins. — Half-bred skins foil* wool, brought from 6d to 9id per lb ; pelts, 6d to Is each ; dried station skins, merino, 4d to 5i per lb. At the sale of stock held on the Show Ground on Friday a large number of horses were offered, but a very limited number £found purchasers. We sold light harness horses at from £10 to £14 ; light draughts £11 to £20 ; oue upstanding Leamington cole, £20. Store Sheep are beginning to show signs of actirity, and we have considerable enquiry ior 2, 4, and 6 tooth merino ewes and wethers, but very few in the market. We have about closed tlie sale of 2000 fullmouthed merino wethers at 59. Fullmouthed merino ewes are in demand a; 3s 6d, but sellers ask 4s. Store Cattle. — We have no transactions to report. lavercargill, 18th Dec , 1873. D. Macrorie, auctioneer, reports that at the land sale held at the Mataura yesterday, the bidding for rural land was languid, 20s to 22s per acre being realised ; for the township allotment the competition was spirited, £39 being obtained
