CAMPBELLTOWN.
(FEOM OTJR OWN" CORRESPONDENT.) Captain Thomson, Harbor Master, has devised a plan which will give communication with the jetty for foot passengers and light traffic without having to cross the rails, as is the case now, thus obviating the inconvenience of coming into dangerous proximity to the trucks. The contrivance is something like a balcony, i projecting six or eight feet from the jetty at the west inner corner, where the rail 3 come so close to the edge that it is almost impossible to pass when a line of trucks are on the curve. If this improvement is effected while the repairs are being done, it will not cost so much as to replace what is now being pulled to pieces. I believe the Provincial Engineer will be asked to make the necessary arrangements, and I hope Government will see its way to have the work begun at once, as it will prove of great advantage, not only to the inhabitants of the Bluff, but to all passengers going to and from the steamers. The passenger traffic at this port has of late been assuming large dimensions, while the jetty accommodation is of the most inadequate kind. Knowing, as I have occasion to do, the unfavorable impression produced upon strangers by the present appearance of the wharf, I hope Government will take the matter up, ani see that something is done worthy of the rapidly increasing trade of this port.
