THE VOLUNTEERS.

. « Bt Rifle. Tke return match between tbe Riverton and Invercargill Corps took place at the range of the latter yesterday. The Rifle Corps, however, deserve their meed of credit for steady uniform shooting. Staff Serjeant M'Pherson acted as marker with his usual ability, and gave general satisfaction by the rapidity and precision whicb characterised his performance of that duty. Tbe following sre the respective scores : —

An American paper writes: — The Delaware Indians live in frame bouses, wear cut-away coats and stand-up collars, fail in business and compromise at 50 cents on the dollar, and are getting quite 1 civilised.
