Fbiday, 21st Fbbbttaet, A number of citizens wero lined for allowing horseß and cattle to stray within the limits of the town, the penalty being 5s for each animal and 6 * 6d costs for each summons. His Worship remarked that although a large number of persons had been fine 1, the off nee seemed to be on the increase, and that in future he would inflict a heavier penalty. Montjat, 24th Fbbbttaby. John Parnell, a new arrival, was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Dee street on Saturday night. The accused wept bitterly when placed in the dock, and promised amendment for the future. He was dismissed with a caution.
