LONG BUSH.

(FROM OUR OW.V CORRESPONDENT) The fourth of our series of winter evening entertainments came off in the schoolroom here, on the evening of Monday, 9th insf., wiih their usual eclat. Mr John G. Smith occupied the chair, and opened the performances by reading an original prologue, and a localised parody on "Lord Uilin's Daughter" — which were well received and applauded. The programme was a long one, and selected with the view of meetiag the various tastes of the audience. The readings were given by Messrs John G. Smith, James M'Kercher, Koss, Edgar, and James ; and a recitation by Mr A. Christie. The singers were Messrs D. Neil, Edgar, Christie, Cronin, James, Wray, and the school choir. Herr Graff, a .Norwegian gentleman, favored the j company with one of the melodies of his fatherland, which reminded one very much of the soul-inspiring airs of our *' uuld Scots sang*." The interest of the public in our entertainments here seems in no wise on the decline, as evinced by the very large attendance, and the excellent appreciative spirit which characterised the meeting. The utmost harmony prevailed, and a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the whole audience joining with a right good will in the Queen's Anthem, and by the announcement from the chair that the nest and concluding entertainment would take place on the 20th inst., in Mr James M'Kay's barn, to be followed by a ball, as a benefit in aid of the school funds.
