CANADA.

The Government has introduced a bill authorising the construction of a Pacific Railway, and granting 50 million acres of land, in blocks 20 miles deep on each side of the line, and a subsidy not exceeding 30,000 f ooodol. A submarine cable is projected between Scotland and Canada, via the Faroe Islands and Iceland. The surplus revenue for the year 1872 is estimated at three and a half million dollars. The capitation tax on immigrants is abolished. The duties on tea and coffee are to be repealed from July 1.
