Times Office, Monday Evening. The season's clip of wool is now pretty well completed. The Becond direct wool ship of the season is loading rapidly, and will be despatched in the coarse of the next two weeks. The recent fine weather has materially improved the prospects of the farmer, and putting and thrashing have now become general throughout the district. Beporta to band state that the grain crops generally are light, but wheat is likely to be in good condition, and of good quality. The yield per acre is understood to be about 20 per cent, less than it was last year, a circumstance which has had the effect of imparting a firmness to its value. The present quotation is 4s fid per bushel. The oat crop is estimated to be at least 50 per cent. below that of last year, and the absence of timely showers of rain has greatly impaired its quality. It is worth about Is 8d cer bushel. Potatoes may be set down as a failure, only a few small patches here and there yielding anything like an average crop. They are at present limited in supply. In imported goods we note that sugars have responded to the rise in the Australian market. Yellow crystals are worth 48s ; D.P. whites may be quoted at 51s to 555. The stock of spirits generally is low. Brandy in bulk is worth 7s 6d ; case, 29s ; J.D.K.Z., 14s ; Tennenf s ale, 12s ; Syasß's porter, lls ; Guiness's stout, 12s 6d ; Blood's 12s 3d. Adelaide flour is scarce, and held firmly at 17s, with an upward tendency. There is just now very little in the market. Cornsacks, reported scarce, are quoted at 16s 3d to 16a 6d. Galvanised iron, fencing wire, and manufactured iron generally has risen in price consequent upon the rise in the home market. In oilmen's stores trade generally has been quiet during the past few weeks.
