Fat Sheep. — The Meat Preserving Company -being now in fuU operation, has greatly increased thfe demand, but thus far without in any material degree altering market values. Our deliveries during the week consist of about 1500 fafc wethers , At lfd per lb, and we have sold 1800 in various

lots at 2d per lb, which prices we quote as the value of prime quality mutton ; medium at lf d. Store Cattle. — We have no transactions to report. . . Store Sheep. — The demand for aU descriptions continues very active, but there are very few lots offering, and the business done during the week has been slight. Our quotations are as follows : —Half-breds, 2 and 4-tooth, 6s 6d ; lambs, 5s 6d to 6s • merino wethers, 4, 6, and 8-tooth, 4s 9J ; youno- ewes, 4s 3d to 4s 6d. For superior lota of wethers, in suitable locaUties, fuUy the above rates are obtainable. Station Property.— We have more frequent enquiry for this class of investment, and, what is pleasing to note, hear of very few properties in the market. For several stations placed upon the market in Canterbury, prices have been oflered and refused, which, as compared with those lately obtained for stations in this Province, are quite extreme. We still offer the Kakanui free- | hold, leasehold, and stock, at our warehouses, ■ Hi-*h-street, on Friday, Bth inst. Wool. With regnrd to the home market, we have nothing further to report. The local demand continues very active, and full prices have been realised for all lots offered during the week. We held our fifth wool sale of this season on Wednesday afternoon. We quote inferior greasy fleece, 9*d to 10* d j medium do, lid to 12d j good to very choice do, 12* dto 15a , cross-bred do, 13d to 16d; washed fleece, 18id to 20£ d ; washed cross-bred, 19£ dto 2 ltd. oneepukivM continue in very brisk demand. The prices realised at auction range frow. BiJ. tn 13d. We quote fair to good skins at 9£i to 10d per lb. The Bvening 'Star of the 2nd inst. reports :— In wheat a fair business has been done this week. To replace stocks the millers have been purchasing at 4s 6d to 4s Bd. As soon, however, as immediate wants have been satisfied, we may expect a decline in the price probably of 3d per bushel. There is a want of fowl wheat, and for a good sample, 3s 3d would be obtainable. In oats there have been no transactions further than the placing of a few feeding lots before the trade. Milling kinds are valued at. 2s to 2s 2d, and feeding at 2s. Malting barley finds buyers at 4s to 4s 6d. For inferior parcels there is no inquiry/ Potatoes are well supplied, the trade being" dealt with at £7 10s- For flour there is an active trade demand. Buyers of parcels will not be found untU the value has become more settled. For the ordinary trade wants, the millers are quoting £12 10s to £13. Inferior flour is selling afc £10. Bran is easier, the price now being £3 5?: Pollard is readUy saleable at £4. Straw, £2 5s ; hay, £3 15s • chaff, £3 10s. ,
