■ m The following are the Customs returns for the week ending Nov. sth, 1870 : —
D. Maohoeik, Auctioneer, reports : — An increased demand in the horse market was noticeable at the usual Saturday's sale on the sth, and an improvement in prices ruled. Several lots passed the hammer at an average of £9 10s., and I believe I could have sold a few more good useful hacks at higher rates, or a few draughts. Country and town properties are also receiving more attention, especially such aa would, be suitable for grazing purposes. Invercargill, 7th November, 1870.
