Subscriptions for the loan of one million for the Viceroy of Egypt, and the Japan Customs loan of one million, are eagerly taken. A Spanish loan is pending. ■>. Dividends.-r-Scottish: Australian Mining, .6; Otago, Southland, Investment, j 1*0; Australian Trust arid Agency, 20. Commercial failures have been numerous. '■ The trade returns show • that trade is ,• expanding. Bills are freely taken at 2| per cent.
