According to the Cromwell Argus, Mr Simpson, District Eoad Engineer, has been instructed: to proceed without-.delay to the head of Lake Wakatip, and thence to Lake M'Kerrow, near Martin's Bay, for the purpose- of examining the line of. route recently traversed by Mr M'Kerrow, and of reporting to the Chief Engineer updn the probable cost of a horse-track to the West Coast.
