The trial of Andrew Johnson, President, takes place on the 13th March. Mr Secretary Stanton is in possession of the War Department. Senator Wade is President pro tern. The New Hampshire election was carried by the Republicans, The States' National Debt amounts to 2,519,829,522 dollars.

Stevens is seriously 1111 President Johnßon will not resign. He has retained B. D. Field, of New York, and B. E. Curtis, of Massachusetts. They object to Senators, who have expressed opinions as to President Johnson's conduct, being jurors. They will object that Senators from 27 States do not constitute the Senate of the United States, and till 10 Southern States have representatives in the House an'l Senate, the latter cannot take up the vital question of impeaching the highest officer of the Government. This failing, he will refuse trial, tender his resignation, and appeal to the people to sustain him, and pass judgment against the Senate at the ballot box. Many of the Senators believe that the articles of impeachment present no ground for conviction. Jeft. Davis's trial is postponed indefinitely, on account of the impeachment proceedings. Julia Dean Cooper, well known in New York as an actress, is dead. Three-fourths of Jefferson, Texas, was destroyed by fire, on the 3rd of March. Sixty business houses and 15,000 bales of cotton were burnt. In Mexico, war is imminent in Sinaloa. General Ochod has been arrested. The trial of the participators in the attempt to assassinate Jaurez proceeds.

(By Atlantic Cable.) London, March 10. Mr Charles Gilpin, member for Northampton, gave notice of a Bill to abolish capital punishment. Burke, Casey, and Shaw, confined in Newgate, will be tried in April. C. W. Hunt, the new Cabinet Minister, has been elected for Northamptonshire. An investigation into the case of the vessel Lizzie Lyne, seized at Chesapeake, has been ordered. W. Johnson, Grand Secretary to the Orangemen, has been imprisoned at County Down, but has been released. The prisoners captured at Dungarvon were offered pardon, on condition of their leaving the country. They refused. Fitzgerald, Dohony, and Macarthy were discharged from custody. The Marquis Pepoli, French Minister to Russia, has been appointed in that capacity to Great Britain. The Jfenians who were captured at Merthyr Tydvil, in "Wales, have been indicted for treason. The Grand Jury of Cork presented an indictment against Capt Mackay, for murder, and against Manix and Walsh as accessories to the crime. An arrangement has been effected between the Anglo-American and Atlantic Telegraph Companies, which will remove all the differences which have hampered the management of Atlantic Cable affairs. Pabis, March 10th. The forthcoming Ministerial Budget will press for the payment of principal and interest to France of the Mexican Bonds. The bullion in the Bank of France has been increased since the last statement, by an amount of 4,000,000 francs. The Emperor Napoleon will pay a visit to St. Petersburg in June. In the Corps Legislatif a law for the regulation of the Press was under consideration. A clause forbidding allusion to private matters was adopted. The Ministerial Budget for the ensuing fiscal year ending in 1868, was laid before the Corps Legislatif. The following are the totals of receipt and expenditure, as estimated hy the Minister of Finance : — Receipts from ordinary sources : 1,699,000,000 francs ; receipts from extraordinary sources, 93,000,000 francs. Total estimated receipts, 1,792,000,000 fr. Ordinary expenditure, 1,627,000,000 francs. Expenditure extraordinary, 184,000,000 francs. Total estimated expenditure, 1,811,000,000.
