The Wakaiip Mail, of 20th inst., has the following commercial report : — " Notwithstanding the very fine weather which we have enjoyed during the week, business has been unaccountably dull, both wholesale and retail houses complaining of the sudden change. Generally there is some article or other in demand ; but this week has been devoid of any activity whatsoever. Our market, considering that the season is approaching when cartage must fall, is fully supplied, and there is not a rise to report in any single article. Flour to arrive could be purchased as low as £50 per ton ; though, on stocks, no great reduction has as yet been made on last week's quotation. Our principal dealers in this article are anxiously awaiting advices by the Aldinga regarding the state of the flour market in Melbourne ; which, no doubt, will materially affect the Dunedin and Invercargill markets. In Duneedin holders are at present unwilling to sell below £28, and in Invercargill the price for beat Adelaide is still quoted at £32. WHOLESALE PRICES CTTKRENT.
