The following Statistical Returns have beon compiled from the Custom House Books, at Invercargill : — I. — Immigration. Arrrivals from Foreign Ports, for quarter ended, 31st March, 1864. — Adults — Males, 42 ; females, 34. Children. — Males, 14; females, 16 103 Arrivals from Ist April to 16th Juno, 1864. — Adults — Males, 23 ; females, 13. Children — Males, 2 ; females, 2 40 143 IT. — Emigration. Departures to Foreign Ports, for quarter ended 31st March, 1861 — Adults — Males, 74 ; females, 13. Children — Males, 2 ; females, 2 91 Departures, from Ist April to 16th Juno, 1864. — Adults — Males, 29 ,- females, 5. Children — Males, 6 ; females, 5 45 136 From the abovo it will be observed that there remains a balance of 7 in favor of Immigration since January last. There have been no arrivals or departures from or to foreign ports since 17th May last. Coastwise Immigration. The following is the return for the month ended lfith instant: — Adults — Males, 17 ; females. 3. Children — Male, 1; females, 2 23 Coastwise Emigration*. For same period the numbers are as follows: — Adults — Males, 172; females, 17. Children 1 , none ISU Leaving a balance in favor of Emigration of 106 souls.
