INVERCARGILL HORSE, CATTLE, SHEEP, AND STATION MARKET.

Messrs. Robertson and Co. report : — During the past month there has been- absolutely nothing doing in the horse and cattle market, owing in a great measure to the fact that we have been overstocked. We trust, however, that there is a speedy prospect of abatement, when the stocks on hand will, doubtless, be sold to some advantage. In the meantime we would not advise any shipments. Our sales of horses during the month have been very limited, but we quote: — Superior draught horses, £40 to £65 ; second class do., £30 to £45 ; light harness and pack do.,' £20 to £30 j superior hacks, good weight carriers, £20 to £25. Working- Btri/LOCKS are in very little demand and but few offering. The low rates of cartage prevents any sales. We quote them at from £25 to £40 per pair.- --* Cattle and Sheep. — Prices nominal. Bbandt (in bond)— Martell's dark, 10s. 9d: to lls. ; do. pale, 11s. to Us. 6d. per dozen ;in cases, 30s. to 325.
