A new bank has just been started in Auckland, and -will shortly commence business, to be called the Bank of Auckland—capital |£100,000 (with power to increase) > in 10,000 shares of £10 each. This bank has- originated from the shareholders of the late contemplated .Loan and Trust. Society, who, after, frequent meetings, resolved ' to increase the capital and form,. a .local provincial bank. From the influence, 'wealth, 'p'ositidn, and business abilities of the promoters, its successes A provisional committee has been {appointed, and a prospectus will" be "issued in a few days. It is contemplated to bring only apportion of the shares into the market at present, sufficient capital being promised, if/ not 'already in handj to start with. The unparalelled success ; of the ', Bank of New. Zealand has no doubt been an incentive to commence the Bank of Auckland.
