WINTON MARKET.

Totliill Watson and Company report ; We held our monthly stock sale at Winton on Thursday, The entries totalled close on 40C0, of which about 3300 were hoggets. There was a very large attendance of farmers and others, and nearly every lot changed hands at prices much more in keeping with values than at some late sales. Buyers operated cautiously, and did not run sheep up to fictitious prices. Best well-woolled hoggets sold up to 11s an extra pen of well grown, 12s 4d ; good, 9s to 10a ; small medium, 6s Id to 8s 6d ; fat ewes, 12s lOd ; maiden ewes (2-tooth), 8s Id; maiden ewes and wethers (2-tooth), 11s lOd ; fat wethers, 11s 4d. Our entry totalled 1175 hoggets and 23 head mixed cattle, following being the prices realised : 62 crossbred hoggets, 10s 8d ; 201 do, 9s 4d,; 147 do, 9s 4d; 180 do, 8s 6d ; 221 do, 8s 3d ; 53 do, 8s Id ; 49 do, 7s 3d ; 50 do, 6s 8d ;69 do, 6s 7d. We sold dairy cows up to L 6; 4 year old steers L 5 15s; 2 year old steers and heifers, L 3 ; yearlings 31s. We sold on account of Messrs George Gorman, junr., William Hazlett, Thomas Hazlett, Angus Taylor, A. Provin, Louis Zweiss, .Jas. McKinnon (Ryal Bush), S. Shaw (Ryal Bush) John Murchison (Springhills), Donald Mcßae, H. J. Gingell, and W. Kennedy. Wool, Skins, Hides, Tallow,'Ac.—At our weekly Monday sale we submitted a large catalogue to the usual number of buyers and sold all lots at late rates ; —Dry crossbreds, 3$ to 4Jd per lb ; do merino, 3.}d ; hoggets, 3Jd to 3fd. Tallow, 15s 6d per cwt. Hides (small), Id per lb.
