DUNEDIN MARKETS.
These are reported on as follows for the week ending 7th inst.: — Fat Cattle.—lso head were yarded as the week’s supply, a large proportion of which, were medium and light-weight bullocks and heifers. These was a moderate demand, anti bidding was rather slow, though prices, except for interior quality, weye within a shade of those obtained last week. Best bullocks, sold at £8 5s to £ll, medium £6 15s to £B, light £5 5s to £6 10s, cows and heifers £3 10s to £8 2s 6d.
lat Sheep.—Bß 7 penned. The entry, though, small, was quite sufficient to meet the requirements of the trade, with the result that bidding was very slack all through the sale, prices being rather lower than those realised at last week’s sales. Best crossbred wethers sold at 12s 6d to 15s, medium 10s to 12s, best crossbred ewes 12s to 15s 6d, ordinary 7s 9d to 11s, merino wethers 8s 3d to 10s. Bigs.—Til penned, which represented all sorts. There was a fair sale for small pigs, but other sorts met a dragging sale. Suckers sold at 7s to 14s, slips 16s 6d to 18s, stores. 19s to 225, porkers 29s to 325, baconers 36s to 50s.
