GORE.
It is rumoured that there is a possibility of Mr Wilson Hall, of Riversdale, being a candidate for the Southland County Council, but for which riding is not yet known.—Mr John Maher, of W«udouside, is to contest the seat for the Waikaia Riding against all comers. Messrs Marrah (denary Station) and D, Lamb (Waikaka) are also spoken of as probable candidates for this seat.
A sad case of drowning occurred at Lintley on Sunday afternoon, when the youngest boy of Mr G-. Marshall fell into an open drain and was drowned. The little fellow appears to have followed his father out of the house.
