BOWLING.

A very enjoyable day’s bowling eventuated on the local green yesterday, when a handicap progressive pairs tournament was held. Twenty players took part and some very closely contested games were witnesed. The players were divided up into skips and leads and five games were played. At the conclusion of the play Morgan and Quarrie (skips) and G. Hook and Cronquest (leads) were found to have tied. So‘ a play-off of eleven heads 'took place, the winners being G. Book and Quarrie. The following is the number of games won by the respective players: —Skips: Quarrie and Morgan, 4 each; Bovis, Clayton, Blackwood, C. Hook, 3 each; Jones and Grey, 2 each; Mason, 1; Knowles, nil. Leads: G. Hook and C. Cronquest, 4 each; E. Butt, Henry, Young, Olsen, 3 each; Downes, 1; li. Hook, Ilydc and Radford, 1 each.
