TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22.
A DATE TO EE REMEMBERED.
Reserve it for the Shannon Women's Institute enteitainment. But what shall we call the evening 1 ? This, question apparently so simple was really a most difficult one to answer. The members of the Shannon Women’s Institute Committee racked their brains, looked worried, gave suggestions, were instantly squashed, tried again and were squashed more cruahiugly than even before. But what can it be that the combined brains of. twelve Cleveland progressive women cannot name it. Unique! Now you are talking. ■ Listen, every one. If you miss this evening you will miss the night of your life. Let us tell you of this most special treat. The champion Palmerston North instrumental trio are coming to delight you with selections. Miss Muirhead (piano), Miss G. McKenzie (’cello), and Mr M. McKenzie (viciin) are the most popular trio in Palmerston. North and the winners of successive competitions. Then the Institute members are acting a play and'some very clever talent has been discovered. Ton will hear more about them in Friday's issue. There will be incidental dancing and a very up-to-date post office will function in the hall in the capabl: hands of Miss Todd (postmistress), and Misses G. Brown and D. Jones as messengers. A stall for sale of Christmas gifts and novelties will brighten up the hall and a display of handicraft the work of Women's Institute members, will be very interesting. Watch Friday’s paper and hear about the play and who are in it.
