SHANNON GOLF CLUB.
ANNUAL BALL. On Friday everting the members of the Shannon Golf Club held their annual ball in the Parish Hall. The function was a brilliant success and the hall was full to capacity. The general scheme of decorations was done with weeping willows and clematis, and green, pink and mauve papers, and the lights, filtering through the greenery on to the many different hued dresses gave a very pleasing appearance. The music, which was provided by the AJhambrian's orchestra from Levin, left nothing to be desired and dancing went with a zest. Extras were played by Mrs A. Morgan and Mr Nicholls. and were repeatedly encored. The position of M.C. was vary capably filled by Mr A. Blackwood, president of the club, j and Mr A. Morgan, secretary. Bridge I tables were also provided for those who preferred cards. An excellent supper was served, long tables being placed down the centre of the hall, beautifully decorated with pink camelias, Japanese Cherry blossom, violets and anemones. The "catering was in the hands of Mr Hill. Quarrie, green beaded georgette with silver shawl; M. Butler, shot taffeta; J. Goodwin, white georgette and radium lace, uneven hem; D. Gunning, green crepe de chene and silver draped skirt; D. Jones, plain bodice frilled skirt with drooping back in scarlet crepe de chene; S. Roach, apricot taffeta with georgette frills; G. Forbes, floral art silk; "V.
