SHANNON BOWLING CLUB.

SEASON OPENS OCTOBER 12th, A meeting of the management committee of the Shannon Bowling Club was held on .Friday evening. The president, Mr A..Blackwood presided. The following new members were elected.—Messrs R. Neale, 0. Hook, W. Olsen, C. Cronquest, J. Aim, P. Morse, G. Mitchell, W. Edgiuton, W. Radford, W. Todd, H. Hook, R. Downes, J. Hennessey, and Rev. Young. Mr W. H. Gunning, one of the pioneer members of the club wa s made a life member.

It was decided to open the season on Saturday, 12th October, and to invite outside clubs. It was resolved that the singles and pairs championships be on the two life system and that games be played in daylight or by electric light. Arrangements for hulding a Yankee tourney throughout the season were made, the Secretary being instructed to obtain information from a neighbouring club as to conditions. The question of grading players at the banning of the season received lengthy consideration, but no action in this direction was arrived at. The electric light play rules were drawn up and adopted. The conditions governing play for club trophies was held over to a later meeting. _________
