MARGARINE MILLIONS.

MERGER IN GREAT BRITAIN. £72,000,000 CAPITAL. (Published in "The Times;") LONDON, Sept. 9. A provisional agreement has been signed by Lever Bros., Ltd., and the Margarine Union, Ltd., for the amalgamation of their ordinary share capital. "The Times," states that the basis of the scheme provides for equality of status for the whole of that class of the capital of the two companies, as from January 1, 1930. (Sun Special.)

The fusion (represents a combined share capital of more than £72,000,000. The Margarine Union, with its Dutch ally—Margarine Unie —has capital of £16,000,000, and controls a large multishop group. Issued share capital of Lever Bros., is £56,627,000.
