AMENDMENT OF LAW URGED' SOCIETY.

Social workers in Auckland consi that the pimshry ease is a definite dication of the value of police- inve gations, and urge, the importance an amendment of the law to eni official action to be taken in all s: lar cases.

The society had first taken actioi the Elmsley case on June 13. It reported the case to the Mercer pol after being informed of the main fi by a deputation of four farmers f Waerenga, who came to its offices Auckland.
“The finding in the case cannot questioned,” said Mr Matthews, “ no doubt the matter will be heart in other proceedings.”
