SHANNON CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY CO.
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. A meeting of directors of the Shannon, Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., was held yesterday. In going over the year's working the chairman remarked that the season had been a particularly heavy one so far as the output is concerned. The amount of butter manufactured being 933 tons,, showing an increase over last year of 119 tons. The average grade being "all finest" ii 4.3. The average monthly payment for all grades of cream was 17.924 d, and it is proposed to make an extra payment of 1.5-16 d, bringing the payment for the year for all grades of cream up to ' 19.236'd. This must, he said, be considered very satisfactory as the season was subject to heavy expenses, owing to floods and bad roads and the necessity of bringing cream many tiir.es from Foxton and Moutoa via Palmerston North. The store sales were approximately £28,000, showing an increase of £6OO on the previous year..
The two retiring directors this year are Messrs W. James and G. H. Sales, who being eligible, again offer themselves for re-election. , Nominations have also been received from Mr Thomas Gardner and Mr Ronald J. Law. An election wili consequently take jplace at the annual meeting to be held on Saturday, August 10th, 1929.
