MANAWATU COMMITTEE MEETS
At the conclusion of the representative games on Saturday a meeting of the committee of the Manawhcnu i Rugbv Union was held at Shannon. Present: Messrs Colcjuhoun (chairman), C. Eraser (secretary), J. Ongley, J. Hardie, J. Ryan, W. Hannan, M. Winiata, H. Crawford, J. Procter, A. Richlards, G. G. Mitchell, B. Hands and Robinson. VISIT OF BRITISH TEAM. A letter was received from the New Zealand Rugby Union, in leference to the policy of the wing forward, re-
questiug that refereees' attention be drawn to this rule. Information >was also sought regarding grandstand facilities for a visit from the British team and suggesting that each "Union should print its own programmes and that 25 per cent, of the proceeds of sales be forwarded to the Union. The secretary was instructed to supply the necessary information and to give particulars" of the Union's arrangement lor printing programmes. The parent body also asked for information regarding the amount of gate percentages leqairtd by the Un-ion.—-It was decided to ask for £0 per cent, of the gross gate. APPOINTMENT OF REFEREES. Both' Unions submitted a list of referees fo.- interprcviucial matches, and as only five are icquired, the following were selected: Messrs o 'Connor, T. Parata, .Gordon, Skoglund and Bevan. ■ MANAWATU SELECTORS. Messrs M. Winiata and J. Ryan were appointed senior selectors for the Combined Unions. . . ■ REPRESENTATIVE FIXWKES. Waiiantp-a: July 17th at Palmerston Noi-th, and Augiu-t 17:h at Masterton. It was also decided to ask that the ■Wairarapa game at Masterton be a shield game if. the latter are the holders. Hav.ke's-Bay Ri'gby Union's request that the date of its match be altered from August 24th to August 31st was grantad. The Noith Auckland Union wrote •asking for a game next season. It was decided to reply that it- is too early to fix the itiiieraiy for next season. The Wellington Rugby Union wrot> confirming September 14th as the date of the ;Manawhenua match at Wellington. An offer for a junior representative match at Levin either on August 17th or 31st was forwarded. The Marlborough Rugby Union wrote asking when Manawhenna were likely to give them a visit. It was pointed out that a 3 they would get a percentage the trip should pay its way.—lt was decided that if suitable arrangement?, can fbe made with the New Zealand Rugby Union a tour of Nelson; Blenheim and Golden Bay be taken this season. A request received from the Wanganui Rugby Football Union for a date for a junior representative match at Wanganui. —It was decided to ask for August 24th, the seniors to play at Levin on Sopi ember 7th. -' GENERAL. Mr Winiata asked if the Union had been notified of the date of closing of nominations for inclusion of players for selection for tin Australian tour. The secretary leplyir.g in the affirma. tive, said he was entirely to 'blame- in not giving notice, owing to misreading the date sent out from the Union. When he discovered his mistake it was too late. It was decidsd to hold the next meeting- on July, 10th in Palmerston North.
