BOWLING.
While at Plimmerton on Saturday a rink consisting of Brann, Lee, Grey and Bovis (skip) tried conclusions with a Plimmerton rink, who were as follows: Watson, Burnham, Haselwood, and Sollitt (skip). A very enjoyable game was played, during which there was little difference between them. On the 19th head they were 18 all, but the two remaining heads went to the home rink who scored two on each, thus coming out victors by 22 to 18. The visitors were most hospitably treated and at the conclusion of the game the president, Mr Wright, expressed pleasure at having a visit from a Shannon rink, this being the firstoccasion on which a Shannon rink had visited the Plimmerton Club. He stated that his members hoped to pay a return visit to Shannon before the close of the season. To-morrow night the local Club will hold a Gala Night, a number of rinks from neighbouring clubs having signified their intention of being present. On Saturday the return games with Northern Club will be played at Palmerston North.
