RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP. IThe rinks championship was commenced on Tuesday evening, when four rinks took part. The games were well contested and proved very interesting. The final was played last evening between Whibley and Roach’s rinks, the game being evenly contested. On the last head Roach required four to draw level, but only registering a two Whibley’a rink won the championship by 21 to 19. Following are the results of the .games played: — FIRST ROUND. Grey, Lee, Quafiie, Knowles (s) 16 v. Ileiirv, Brann, Clayton, Roach (s) 28. McLaggan, Franks, Clayton, Knowles (s) 16 v. Hook, Gunning, Jones, Whibley (s) 27. FINAL. iWhibley ’s rink defeated Roaich’s rink by 21 to 19. A rink of (Shannon bowlers will play a Plimmerton rink at, the latter place on Saturday.

LEVIN RETAINS DIXON CUP. A rink from Pahiatua visited the Levin green on Wednesday as .challengers, for Dixon Cup and a hotly contested game ensued. Levin commenced well and were leading by 5 on the third head. Afterthis until the 20th head there was never more than 1 or 2 points difference, first , one team and -then the other leading.
