INTERESTING BOWLING EVENT FOXTON WIN THE TRIANGULAR SHIELD. ' LEVIN RUNNERS-UP THREE I POINTS AWAY. The final round of the Triangular Shield games was played on the Shannon green on Wednesday afternoon. The competition is between the Otaki, Levin, Foxton and Shannon Clubs, and under tha rules the visiting clubs play one rink each, the home clubs playing three rinks; the aggregate number of points scored by each club decide the winner. Prior to Wednesday's game the number of points scored by each club was as follows: —Levin 107, Otaki' 101, Foxton 95, Shannon 49. Ideal bowling weather prevailed, while the green was :'n fairly good order, and 'some very interesting play was witnessed The final, as play progressed, saw Levin (the holders) and Foxton putting,up a strenuous fight for their respective games, to pile up points. A good finish resulted; Levin had one head to go and Foxton two heads; the .latter required four points to .win the Shield, but on the 20th head they put the issue beyond doubt by registering a five as againsi a one scored by Levin, following this 'up by annexing another point in the final head, thus becoming the holders of the Shield for 1920. The aggregate number of points scored by each club U az follows: — Foxton 120 Levin 120 fOtaki , Ho Shannon • • 07 At the conclusion of the games, Mr Sherwood on bohalf of the Levin rink, in handing over the Shield to the Foxton rink, congratulated them on their •win, stating that they had put up a very creditable performance, and he hoped that they would be able to hold the Shield for some time. Cheers were then called for the winners.

Mr Heycs, on behalf of Foxton, in returning thanks, said that it was very pleasing' to them to observe the manner iii which their win was received. He expressed the hope that next season they would have a* good game for the Shield and that it would_ be competed for in the same fine spirit. The following are the scores on the .day's play, the Shannon rinks being mentioned first: —
