SHANNON RINK’S VISIT TO DANNEVIRKE.
Oil Wednesday last a rink, consisting of Messrs B. Wilkinson, N. Grey, C. € Frank.-, and A. G. Mason, (skip) journeyed to Dannevirkje to play a skipped by Mr J. S. Williams for tlie Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges. Although unsuccessful in bringing home the coveted trophy, the visiting team were loud in their praise of the sporting hospitality shown by the Dahnevirke Club.
The green was in perfect order, but a gusty wind was blowing across the play, which proved very tricky throughout the game. The Dannevirke riulc won the first four heads and retained a substantial lead right through the game, Shannon pulling their score up a little towards the end of the game by a two and a three. DOMINION TOURNAMENT. RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUED. ‘ The weather was again very boisterous in Wellington yesterday, when the Dominion bowling tournament was continued; the rinks championship being carried on in a northerly gale, accompanied in the afternoon by some misty rain. The; Levin and Shannon rinks'were beaten in the third round, but each had a win in the fourth round. Their games were as under: — THIRD ROUND. Section C. —King (Hastings), 26, Sub an (Levin), 19. Section F.—Galbraith (St. John’s), 24; Roach (Shannon), 14. FOURTH ROUND. Section C. —Suhan (Levin), 27: Clarke (Victoria Bowling Association). 23. Section F.—Roach (Shannon), 23; Ryan (R-emuera), 20. WINS AND LOSSES. Section C. —Suhan. (Levin), 2 wins, 2 losses. Section F.—Roach (Shannon), 1 win, 3 losses.
