GUNMAN SHOOTS YOUTH IN HEART OF SYDNEY
THOUSANDS LOOK ON. BUT NO ATTEMPT IS MADE TO DETAIN HIM. . Beceived Sunday 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 9. Early last night, in erowded Rawson Place, near the railway station, one of the busiest spots-in the city, Leslie Grano, aged 21, who was walking wttk several other youths, was accosted by a stranger, who told them to "get ont of this." Grano and his companions, thinking it a jest, laughed. The stranger drew a revolver and shot Grano, who was sent to hospital in a dying condition. The crime was apparently without motive. It was committed in the presence of thousands of onlookers, who made no-attempt to detain the gunman. _ '
