BLADES GALORE.
MISSIONARY'S DELUGE.
LONDON, Monday. Last month a correspondent wrote a letter' to the London Times soliciting suggestions for the disposal of used j safety-razor blades. * This appeal has resulted in interj esting letters on every aspect of the . subject, including methods of securing the longevity of the blades. A Hammersmith man said he placed his discarded blades-in a cigar-box, which he threw overboard from a Channel steamer. This wastefulness horrified Kenneth Fraser, a' Scottish missionary in the Sudan, who wrote requesting that blades be sent to him, as they were much in demand by his woolly-headed flock for mutual head-shaving. Fraser now sends out an 5.0.5., saying, like the man who introduced rabbits into Australia, that he is astounded at the success of his innocent effort. He has received 200 delightful letters, and 500 packages, approximating 100,000 blades, for whieh he is thankful, but acknowledges that he has at last perceived the value of the Hammersmith man's suggestion.
