THE HIGHEST YET
Up to the present the highest legal speed limit recorded on the Continent lias been the 50-kilom. per hour, on open roads, in the canton of Berne, in Switzerland. This has now been eclipsed, however, in the State of Vorarlberg, which has to be crossed by motorists who propose to-reach the Tyrol from Switzerland in order to drive over the Arlberg Pass —the direct route to Vienna. A new ordinance prescribes 25 kiloins. per hour for inhabited areas, 50 kiloms. outside* and.- 60 kiloms. on roads of "perfect visibility.’' On Sundayafternoons these limits axe reduced to.
20’kiloms. and 40 kiloms. respectively.
