HARVEST FESTIVAL.
A very successful harvest festival season has just been concluded in the Presbyterian church, these having been the first services of the kind held in the Presbyterian church fdr a good number of years. The church was seasonably decorated by the ladies of the. Guild. The services were conducted by the Rev. R. Williamson, who preached from appropriate texts. On Thursday evening a complete sale of produce was effected under the stewardship of Mrs Clayton and Mrs Mitchell. Then followed a very enjoyable social evening. Those taking part in the programme were Mi‘s Cronquest, Miss Bishop, Miss V. Quarrie, Miss Vera Aim, Miss Agnes Aim, Mr. Cronquest; and there was a very much appreciated song 1 from Master Ronald Bishop .. The ladies of the guild again came-to the fore with refreshments , The management committee, are very grateful for the generous assistance of those taking part in the- programme and for the fellowship of those who have joined in the harvest season. Much' credit is due to the ladies of the guild, who after the long absence of;, such services, so ably attended to the decorating of the church. _ ‘ The committee, feel that social gatherings' throughout the winter should be more frequent, and it is hoped that monthly social meetings will be arranged. Special thanksgiving services’will, be held in the Presbyterian Church a ; Tokomaru on Sunday at 3 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. R. Williamson o: Shannon.
