WEDDING BELLS.

DITTMER—BOWKER.

The wedding was solemised on Wednesday afternoon at the ■ Methodist Church, Shannon, of Mary Hannah, eldest daughter of My. and Mrs S. Bowker, of Ihakara, and John, second son of Mr. and Mrs H. Dittmer, of Palmerston North. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. Peryman, the Wedding March being played by Mrs Barber. The bride, who was given away, by her father, was becomingly attired in a gown of pale pink crepe de chine with over dress of silver lace. She - also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a handsome bouquet of white flowers and asparagus fern. The chief bridesmaid was the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Annie Dittmer, wearing d pale blue crepe do chene frock and black hat; the other bridesmaid, Miss Rose Bowker, sister of the bride, being attired in a frock of pale pink crepe de chene with black hat. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. William Bowker, brother of the bride, and Mr. John Bowker was grooiysinan.. , >

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Parish Hall at which about* 80 persons were present, when the usual toasts were honoured. The happy couple were the recipients of ‘many beautiful and costly presents. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride wai a beautiful Fox fur and to the bridesmaids gold brooches, the bride presenting to the bridegroom a travelling case.

Later the newly married couple left on their moneymoon which will be spent in the South Island, the bride travelling in a frock of saxe blue silk repp, with hat and coat en suite.

Both the church and hall had been decorated by the friends of the bride and looked very pretty.
