WALLPAPER CHANGING
A new coloured wall paper every day or an. entirely different scheme of interior decoration, is to be obtained merely by'the manipulation of a few switches.
It is a new scheme of colour lighting and at a demonstration given in a London West End showroom spectators watched a black and orange wallpaper change to brown and the picture of a well dressed woman turn into a silhouette. The installation is a series of coloured electric lights set behind panels of ribbed glass and “ let into,” the wall and ceiling and a few switches. Not only did the turning of a switch change the colour of a wallpaper but also its design. It is claimed that large sums of money could be saved to theatres, cinemas, and hotels in expensive interior decorations by the installation of the system. ! * It was also claimed that th’p lighting scheme would enable an actor to make an instantaneous “ change ’ ’ of costume, which could be worked with effect in, say, a prologue to a film.
