The advance now being made by the women of India is exemplified by the success of one Miss Mitham Lata, L.L.8., who Avas the first of her sex to be admitted to practise as a barrister in the Bombay High Court. Incidentally, she gained recognition last year because of her w r ork in England for the extension of the franchise of her countrywomen. i
