Levin Wimeiereis Club, at a meeting recently held, on :he proposal of Mr Lindsay McDonald, president, decided that the secretary be instructed to write to the Manawatu D.C. thanking them for their spontaneous offer to' this Council, that a benefit game be played to defray the expenses of Jacob's accident, and also placing on record their appreciation of all who assisted in making the effort a success. The President pointed out that Jacob was going to be a sick man for some time insofar that he would miss the season. Mucli of this heavy toil which he undertook during the .-■piing and tummci enabled him to devote s<, much time to football in the winter. 'He suggested a public subscription be opened to ensure that Ja-<-ob would have a long enough rest to bring about his complete recovery.
